How and why did you decide on the basement waterproofing industry? What’s your story?
BAM! is a local business founded in 2012 by Mark Williams.
After working for several years with different basement repair companies, Mark saw a need for better value and customer service in the industry, so he decided to open his own basement waterproofing company. What do you find most fulfilling about your work?
Being able to help our customers’ homes with their waterproofing needs, being upfront and honest with pricing, and providing the best solution to their home’s issues. Not overselling products that they don’t need. Providing the low side of fair pricing. Also, being able to take care of my employees and making sure they are happy as well. What significant changes have you seen take place in your profession over the years?
Over the years, I have seen a lot of basement companies come and go. Bigger basement companies are buying from the smaller companies. The quality of the work and products is going down with other companies, and they are overbidding jobs, selling the client solutions their home doesn’t need. The honesty and integrity of people in the industry are going down instead of up. We have also seen better products come out to provide our customers with the best solutions and the best quality products.

Tell us about your family and what you all enjoy doing together.
I am married to my beautiful wife, Jess. I have 2 daughters, a son, and 3 grandchildren. We love to travel together; we just took a trip to Hawaii, and it was amazing. We like to go fishing, boating, and bike riding.
How would you define success?
To me, success doesn’t mean having a nice car and a big house while my employees rent apartments and drive clunkers, and customers pay too much money for a low-quality solution. A successful company is one where everybody does well, all employees are happy, and BAM! customers are satisfied for the life of their home.
What do you want to be remembered for?
I want to be remembered as an honest businessman, one who takes care of his customers, employees, family, and friends.
